Conditions Applied | Mirror Conversations Edition IV

Conditions Applied | Mirror Conversations Edition IV

"You look unusually presentable today." "You are smarter than you look." "Your presentation was surprisingly good." Sounds like compliments right ? Or are they thinly veiled insults? We have all encountered words that sound polite on the surface, but then you are left scratching your head thinking if it was really something nice! And if we are being honest, we have not only been on the receiving end, we have also used it on people :) For Edition IV of Mirror Conversations, we are bringing men and women together to talk about backhanded compliments or compliments with conditions applied. If you, like me, have been sweeping those compliments under the carpet - this is your chance to vent it all out! No need to have a dramatic story. Just bring your honest conversations! Ticket price includes food and beverages.

Online meetup on "My ex was a red flag, so was I (sometimes)" happening on 6th Sep

Online meetup on "My ex was a red flag, so was I (sometimes)" happening on 6th Sep

I've hosted *15 women-only meetups* so far. And apparently I still haven't learned my lesson ๐Ÿ˜‚ This time, for the *16th meetup*, and only the *2nd edition of Pyjama Talks*, my online meetup series, we're talking about relationships, exes, red flags, green flags, questionable decisions and the things we've learned along the way. But this isn't going to be a *"sit in a circle and tell us your breakup story"* kind of meetup. I'll have a bunch of funny, slightly unhinged question prompts to drive the conversation. The kind of questions that make you go: *"Oh god, I have an answer for this"* or *"Wait! I think I'M the red flag"* ๐Ÿ‘€ โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ” -%WHAT ARE WE GOING TO TALK ABOUT?%- We'll talk about our dating patterns, the things we ignored, the things we did, the lessons we learned, the relationships that actually worked, and probably a few stories that should never leave the Gmeet call ๐Ÿ˜‚ And yes, there will be space for the dramatic ex stories too. But the idea is to make this *more of a conversation than a series of breakup monologues.* You can come with a dramatic ex story. You can come with a wholesome relationship story. You can come with absolutely nothing and just listen to everyone else's questionable decisions. Whether you're *single, dating, married, divorced, happily coupled, in a situationship,* or currently questioning your entire taste in humans, you're welcome ๐Ÿ˜‚ โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ” -%๐Ÿ“… MEETUP DETAILS%- ๐Ÿ“… 6th September (Sunday) โฐ 8 PM - 10 PM ๐Ÿ‘ฉ Women only (only verified users of TwoXTopia) I'm keeping this one *small with only 10 participants.* The format is designed so that *everyone gets a chance to be part of the conversation.* We'll have different prompts throughout the evening, and we'll go around the group for some of them while leaving others open for whoever has something to say. So this isn't a meetup where *2 people talk for an hour and everyone else watches.* โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ” -%COME AS YOU ARE ๐Ÿ‘€%- Come prepared to *talk, laugh, overshare, disagree* and maybe discover that *you were the red flag all along* ๐Ÿ˜‚ Once 10 women confirm, I'll close the participant list and start a waitlist in case someone drops out. And if there's a lot more interest than 10 spots, well, I'll take that as a sign that *Bangalore women have some unresolved relationship stories to discuss* ๐Ÿ‘€ โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ” -%๐ŸŒฑ THE BIGGER GOAL%- The bigger goal, as always, is pretty simple: ๐Ÿ‘ฉ Meet women. ๐Ÿ’ฌ Hear their stories. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Laugh together. ๐Ÿค Find people you click with. ๐Ÿ“ฑ Maybe leave with a few new people to text on a random Saturday. If you'd like to join, click the *Attend* button and comment that you'll be joining! โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ”โ” *PS* ๐Ÿ‘€ : Any TwoXTopia user is free to join! You don't always need to have a story to join the meetup. You can simply listen to other's stories as well! โค๏ธ

Protest to Power : The Women Who Paved The Way. Join our live discussion on this podcast topic on 26th Aug, 4pm IST

What man needs to keep track of 28 days? That was the question an anthropology professor asked Sandi Toksvig when she was a student at Cambridge. The class had just been shown a bone with 28 incisions, often described as โ€œmanโ€™s first attempt at a calendarโ€ Everyone dutifully wrote it down. Then the professor asked: โ€œWhat man needs to mark 28 days?โ€ And suggested it could have been a womanโ€™s first attempt at a calendar to track her menstrual cycle. Whether or not that particular interpretation is historically proven, the question behind it stayed with me: How often have we assumed the person behind an innovation was a man simply because we weren't told otherwise? And that made me think about something else. The Indian freedom struggle. Ask someone to name women who contributed to it. Quickly they'll come up with ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿป Rani Lakshmibai. Sarojini Naidu. Aruna Asaf Ali. And then the list starts getting harder. Not because women weren't there. They absolutely were. They organised. They protested. They wrote. They fought. They built movements. They took enormous risks. We just don't remember enough of their names. And I don't think this is limited to freedom fighters either. There are women who changed science, technology, education, politics, art and society. Their stories somehow became footnotes while the men around them became history. So join @(Mali) and I, in our live TwoXTalks podcast as we talk about these women. The title is : Protest to Power: The Women Who Paved the Way, where we'll dig into the stories of women who fought, created, challenged and changed things but weren't always given their due. Some will be Indian. Some won't be. Some will be famous for something completely different from what they actually contributed. Since @(Mali) and I'm a woman, we are very likely to go on a completely different tangent while trying to stay on the topic at hand. And if we didn't do that, take away our license for being a woman, lol I'm hoping that by the end of it, if I ask you to name women who changed history, your list will be a lot longer than just Rani Lakshmibai. So who is one woman you think more people should know about? We'll research and give her a shoutout in our podcast! TwoXTalks by TwoXTopia | Because TwoXTopia was made for conversations like this.

Pyjama Talks #1: Careers, late starts, huge gaps & everything in between. An online meetup at 8pm on 23rd August.

Pyjama Talks #1: Careers, late starts, huge gaps & everything in between. An online meetup at 8pm on 23rd August.

Last Sunday, 16th August, we had a conversation about careers that somehow turned into conversations about marriage, family expectations, children, career breaks, changing fields, failure, success and starting over. And there were more women interested in that conversation than could physically fit into one small meetup. So we're continuing it online. โค๏ธ **Introducing Pyjama Talks ๐Ÿงธ** It's basically a TwoXMeets (our usual offline TwoXTopia meetups), except you don't have to leave your house. No speaker. No presentation. No networking pitch. No "tell us what you do" round. Just women sitting at home, probably in their pyjamas, talking. ๐Ÿงธ Pyjama Talks #1 : Started late? Took a break? Careers that don't always make sense ๐Ÿ“… Sunday, 23 August โฐ 8 PM โ€“ 10 PM ๐Ÿ’ป Online I'm keeping it to 10 speaking spots because I want this to remain an actual conversation. If more women join, you're still welcome to listen. The first 10 women to join the call at 8 PM get the speaking spots. If someone leaves, I'll open that spot to the listeners. And yes, listening is completely fine. You don't have to come prepared with a life story or be the most talkative person in the room. Women only. Verification required. You will need to keep your camera on while introducing yourself. After that, you can keep it off if you prefer. If you'd like to join, comment that you're interested and click the "Attend" button to RSVP. If you can't make this one, don't worry. Pyjama Talks will happen on Sundays when there isn't a TwoXMeet scheduled (and if I have the energy to host you all ๐Ÿ˜‚). ๐ŸŒณ TwoXMeets = offline ๐Ÿงธ Pyjama Talks = online Let's see if we can have the same conversations from our beds that we usually have sitting on the grass in Cubbon Park โค๏ธ

You are Great, But...

You are Great, But...

Some of the most confusing feedback we receive at work sounds almost like a compliment. โ€œYouโ€™re doing great, but you need to be more visible.โ€ โ€œYou have potential, but you need to show more leadership.โ€ โ€œYouโ€™re almost there.โ€ And you walk out wondering - what exactly am I supposed to change? After two editions of Mirror Conversations, weโ€™re back with our third. This time, weโ€™re taking the conversation to the workplace. Because feedback like โ€œbe more visibleโ€ often sits in a strange space between performance and perception. Do I need to speak more? Be more assertive? Dress differently? You can measure whether someone delivered a project well. Itโ€™s much harder to measure whether they look like a leader, command a room or are visible enough. And yet, these perceptions can influence how we are seen at work. So this edition of Mirror Conversations will explore the relationship between image, confidence, visibility and performance at work.Through stories, conversations and interactive activities, weโ€™ll unpack some of the workplace feedback that has left us questioning how we show up. You asked, weโ€™re doing it again. And this time, itโ€™s our 3rd edition ๐Ÿซถ Started late? Took a break? Changed careers? Still figuring it out? Wondering if everyone else has their life together except you? ๐Ÿ˜ญ Our Careers That Donโ€™t Always Make Sense meetup has been one of our most-loved conversations, so weโ€™re bringing it back for the third time , because clearly, none of us are done figuring this career thing out. Come meet women with unconventional career paths, unexpected pivots, career breaks, big dreams, confusing decisions, and stories that definitely don't fit neatly on a LinkedIn profile. No perfect 5-year plans. No โ€œyou should have figured it out by now.โ€ Just honest career conversations, new perspectives, and women figuring it out together๐Ÿ’Œ Your career doesn't have to make sense to everyone else. It just has to make sense to you ๐Ÿ“… 16th August (Sunday), 3 PM - 6 PM ๐Ÿ“ Cubbon Park ๐Ÿ’ฐ Free Entry ๐Ÿ‘ฉ Women only (all ages welcome)

Nobody Prepared Me For The Dishes. Join our live podcast on 29th July 26, 4pm IST

I used to find washing dishes therapeutic. And then I became an adult. Or at least that's what I thought. The world decided I became an adult when I turned 18. For me? It happened much later. Or maybe, it happened in stages. At 27, I moved from my hometown to Bangalore. It was the first time I had ever lived away from my family. I thought that would make me an adult. It didn't. Then I got my first job here. Lived in a PG. Started earning. I thought life was finally sorted. I thought that would make me an adult. It didn't. Then October came. Our entire team was laid off. I remember thinking "Well, I guess companies don't lay off children" Surely this was adulthood. Except it still didn't feel that way. Because if I was really an adult, why was I calling my parents for emotional support? Why was I still depending on them financially while figuring life out? Then I found another job. I didn't even make a LinkedIn post about it. I genuinely wasn't sure I'd survive the first month. Three years later, I'm here. I live alone in a 1BHK. I cook. I clean. I pay bills. I schedule doctor appointments. I worry about my future. And yes, I absolutely hate doing the dishes now. Sometimes they're washed with tap water. Sometimes they're washed with tears. Either way, they get done. Maybe that's what adulthood really is. Not waking up one morning and suddenly becoming an adult. But quietly becoming a little more responsible, A little more independent, A little more resilient, Again and again. That doesn't mean I've figured life out. โ†’I still struggle with meal prep. โ†’My sleep schedule is a mess. โ†’My body has started reminding me that I'm not 22 anymore. โ†’Work-life balance still feels like a puzzle. And I'm willing to bet I'm not the only one. That's one of the biggest things building TwoXTopia has taught me. Every woman thinks she's struggling with something unique. Then she sits in a room with other women and realizes< "Wait, you're dealing with this too?" Last Sunday, we hosted a meetup called "Nobody Prepared Me For The Dishes: The Realities of Adulting" The conversations were so honest that I walked away thinking, One meetup isn't enough. So tomorrow, we're taking the conversation online. Whether you're a woman trying to figure out adulthood Or even a man who has his own stories about responsibilities nobody warned him about (men are allowed only in the podcast, not on the entire TwoXTopia platform) Come join the live podcast. Let's talk about the parts of adulthood that nobody prepared us for. Because sometimes, the best solution isn't having all the answers. It's realizing you don't have to figure them out alone. Title : Nobody Prepared Me For The Dishes: The Realities of Adulting Date : 29th July, 2026 Time : 4pm Platform : https://meet.google.com/czw-xyiu-vtj PS : Whether you join or not, @(Mali) & I will do it anyways, like we always do. If you don't make it to the live podcast, we'll assume that Adulting consumed your free time ๐Ÿคญ

"Nobody Prepared Me For The Dishes : The Realities of Adulting" Meetup happening on 26th July in Forum Mall

Adulting is confusing. Some days you're celebrating your first salary, and other days you're googling how taxes work or wondering if everyone else secretly has life figured out. This isn't a space to simply vent, it's a space to learn from each other. Join us for an honest conversation about the realities of adulthood: the challenges, the little wins that deserve celebrating, and the hacks that make everyday life a bit easier. From managing money and navigating careers to maintaining friendships, living independently, and taking care of yourself, we'll swap stories, share practical advice, and leave with ideas we can actually use. No pressure. No pretending to have it all together. Just women helping women navigate adulthood, one conversation at a time. PS : This is a women only meetup. It's open to women of all ages. Everyone can order whatever they wanna order at the cafe. And after the meetup we can explore the mall
