Why we created TwoXTopia - An online space created by women, for women
You might ask that there are already many social media apps available in the market so why did you make one more? And why should we use TwoXTopia when we can just simply post our pictures on Instagram, post our random thoughts on threads, post about national and international issues on twitter, post about random confessions as an anonymous user on reddit and post about normal questions on Quora.
I say that every app has its own place and its own specialty. I am not asking you to ditch one for another or to ditch one for TwoXTopia. Honestly, please keep doing all that. People in each of those sites would appreciate you content there more.
I really don't seem like a good marketer of my own app, do I?
Hold on, let me continue.
Let's imagine some scenarios. I hope you are still reading this. Let's go :
Scenario 1 :
You have a private account on Instagram. You post pictures of you having a good time, you comment on your friends pictures and you scroll endless reels that the Instagram algorithm dictates. Its all fun and games. As long as its with your friends.
But one day you comment on a popular meme page. Your comment goes viral. You get tons of likes. But then you also get dozens of friend requests. People really love my sense of humor, you think to yourself. You also end of getting an equal number of DMs in your other's inbox. You check it out. Somehow its all men. You dare check the DMs. Its all just saying "Hi", "Hey" or the variations of thereof. Some of them are creepy, which i would rather not go in detail.
Scenario 2 :
Remember the funny and informative reels that the algorithm recommends you? You saw one about Karnataka govt approving 12 menstrual leaves a year across all sectors. Kudos Karnataka govt, you think to yourself. You go to the comment section. You expect that it would be all appreciation in the comment section. But instead you see these kinds of comments from men saying this - "What about us? We also need extra leaves for hangovers or something", "Why do women need leaves for menstrual cramps? Getting kicked in the ball hurts more", "So many women are gonna misuse this, just like they do when they file fake dowry cases and ask for huge alimony citing fake domestic violence"
Mind you there are good comments too. From men and women. But the trolling, misogynist, derailing comments are almost always from men. Its good when you are on your post that only your friends can see. But on any public page? Its more trolling and less appreciation. Even if you read 2 bad comments and 8 good ones, its always the bad ones that stick with you for longer. Isn't it?
Scenario 3 :
You are new to Bangalore. You don't have a proper place to stay yet. You wanna ask someone "Does anyone know some good Ladies PG to stay in Bangalore near Jayanagar, JP Nagar or South End Circle?" But who do you ask this question to? You have hundreds on friends on Instagram, Facebook and offline too. But they are not from Bangalore. You have some guy friends from Bangalore but they obviously never lived in a Ladies PG. How can their opinion be reliable? A really good guy friend suggested one. He says its cheaper and near to what you are looking for. You go there and you realize there is a bar near it. Your see a drunken man sprawled on the pavement. You refuse to live in this PG because you know you will be coming late from office and you will be taking a metro but you will still need to walk 500 meters to reach your PG. The street light near the PG doesn't work, and its gets dark very quicky during winters. You don't feel safe. For your guy friend, none of these things registered in his mind when he suggested the PG. And why would it? He's a man. He doesn't feel threatened by other men. He's not afraid of the dark. He was always allowed to go for late night drives.
When he walks on a dark dimly lit road at night, his biggest worry is what if there's a pothole and he didn't see it. Your biggest worry is what if there is a group of men and they see you.
Now imagine this last scenario and I really hope you are still reading this.
Scenario 4 :
Imagine there is an app where its all women. And not just random women. Only a woman invited by another woman. There are no DMs so no one bothers you in private while saying good things to you in public. You post about women issues and you get comments from women only and unless its that one women who is too drenched in internalized misogyny and busy being a pick-me, its all good in the comment section. You see many posts here that one point you realize there are some topics where you see your internalized misogyny and pickmeness come out. But you read all these experiences from women here and you learn to be better. You realize your inherent biases.
Now you post a question like - "Does any one know a good living space for a woman in Bangalore near XYZ area?" and you set your filter to Bangalore. You get answers from women in Bangalore who have actually lived you scenario. Every comment is useful.
Its a good thing that you don't have to imagine any more scenarios. You have TwoXTopia now. Use it. Tell me what needs fixing. Help us improve it so that it suits your needs better. Let's create a sisterhood of trustworthy, amazing, and fabulous women. Let's further build TwoXTopia together!

Need suggestions for exploring BLR
Hello everyone! I am very new to this city and it will be safe to say that I have not got the chance to explore BLR properly.

If you're from BLR or know places to explore in BLR please suggest below 🐢

Episode 4 : Why leaving home was the hardest and best decision ever
Uber drivers are too bossy!
I just don't understand one thing. If I am booking an uber during rush hours that means either I am already running late or maybe I am really not willing to take the public transportation for that day, then why do some uber drivers internationally accept a ride just to cancel it?
#uber must have some strict policies where once a driver accepts a ride they cannot cancel it for no valid reason. My uber driver accepted the ride, called me to confirm the location, came to pick me up and then cancelled the ride after the ride started all because he wanted to go to another direction urgently which was opposite to my drop location. And I had to pay a penalty price for that!?.
How am I at fault here? 😭
These over bossy drivers who does what they want to do should be taught some basic manners

The Truth About Having A Non Linear Career In Today's World - Join our live discussion on Gmeet on 3rd Dec
If your career looks ‘messy’ on paper, you’re probably doing it right.
Most of us don’t follow a straight line career anymore.
Some of us start in engineering and find ourselves in designing.
Some of us realise content creation makes us happier than coding.
Some switch roles, switch cities, take breaks, restart, and rediscover what they actually want from work. And often multiple times.
There’s nothing wrong or unstable about it.
A non-linear career isn’t confusion.
It’s exploration.
It’s growth.
It’s choosing alignment over autopilot.
With the kind of world we work in today, where industries evolve overnight and new roles appear every year, linearity is no longer a realistic expectation.
What matters is the following :
1. Are we learning?
2. Are we curious?
3. Are we building a life that feels true to us?
We’re hosting a conversation where we unpack all the fears, the uncertainty, the messy parts, and the courage behind choosing a different path.

Why leaving home was the hardest and best decision ever? Join our live discussion today!
What makes you grow up faster, experience or time?
Leaving home. Every single time.
It may sound dramatic but moving away from your hometown is one of those life decisions that feels impossible in the beginning but transformative in hindsight.
Living alone teaches you things no comfort zone ever will. Be it taking care of yourself when no one is around, or building routines from scratch or handling fear, homesickness, and silence or simply creating your own definition of home. But most importantly it teaches you how to grow into someone you didn't even know you could become.
The transition is everything. It's the good, the bad and the ugly. It is the bills, the loneliness, the unexpected adulting, but also the resilience, confidence, and self-awareness.
To dive deeper into this journey, I’m hosting a live podcast episode on:
"Why Leaving Home Was the Hardest and Best Decision Ever"
Date: Wed 26th Nov, 2025
Time: 5 PM

Whether you’ve moved out, want to move out, or are curious about what this phase teaches us,
You’re invited to listen, reflect, and relate.

green nail polish 💅= green flag vibe
You know for the longest of time I hated the colour green. I thought how bad it makes me look and does not compliment my skin tone at all. But then one day my bestie gifted me a very pretty shade of green polish and asked me to apply it.
"Green will look great on you! Try it now!" A threat it was but glad I was scared of her and applied it.
Since then I am obsessed with green. My watch it green. So is my purse. So is favorite top in green and yeah obviously my nail colour.
It is so important to have such friends around you who makes you feel special in every possible way.
Shoutout to my bestie @anweshabanik99 🐢💚
Tag yours!

What actually makes a good frontend developer today?
Honestly?
Someone who also understands backend at least decently.
Frontend isn’t just “build the UI” anymore. You need to know how the backend works, how to communicate ideas, how to think like a product person, and how to understand what users actually want. Even knowing Canva helps because explaining ideas visually makes life easier.
Basically, the job has become way more multidisciplinary than people admit.
We’re discussing this in a live Gmeet session on 19th Nov called “The Many Hats of a Modern Frontend Developer.”
Anyone can join - devs, tech people, even curious users.
If you have thoughts or experiences about the shifting frontend role, I’d love to hear them

Can the app remember where I left off?
Hi team,
I noticed that when I open an article and then go back, the app returns to the top of the feed instead of keeping me at the same scroll position.
It would be really helpful if the app could remember where I left off, so users don’t have to scroll again to find their place.
GMeet Discussion : "How to Get Verified While Maintaining Privacy"
Most platforms now push for “verification” but it often means sharing personal data that not everyone’s comfortable with.
That's why we’re hosting a Google Meet discussion on:
"How to Get Verified While Maintaining Privacy"
It’s open to both users and developers and anyone curious about digital identity, privacy, and trust online.
The idea is to discuss how verification could be done responsibly, without forcing people to overshare their data.

Black coffee- the magic cup
Black coffee, made simply by brewing roasted coffee beans without milk or
sugar, is a powerhouse of antioxidants and natural caffeine. It’s one of the healthiest low-calorie beverages, offering several physical and mental benefits when consumed in moderation. The absence of additives keeps it pure, strong, and effective for boosting energy, improving focus, and supporting metabolism.
Here are some of the key benefits of black coffee:
Boosts metabolism and aids weight loss:
Caffeine in black coffee stimulates the nervous system, increasing calorie burning and fat breakdown. It also acts as a mild appetite suppressant, which helps reduce overeating.
Improves focus and mental alertness:
By blocking adenosine, a neurotransmitter that causes drowsiness, caffeine enhances concentration, alertness, and reaction time — making it ideal before work or workouts.
Rich in antioxidants:
Black coffee contains polyphenols and hydrocinnamic acids that protect the body from oxidative damage and reduce inflammation, supporting heart and cell health.
Supports liver and heart health:
Regular black coffee drinkers have a lower risk of liver diseases such as fatty liver, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Moderate intake also helps maintain healthy cholesterol and blood sugar levels, supporting heart function.
Enhances mood and brain health:
Caffeine stimulates dopamine production, improving mood and reducing fatigue. Long-term coffee consumption is linked with a lower risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases.
When enjoyed in moderation (about 1–2 cups per day), black coffee is more than a morning ritual — it’s a natural stimulant that supports energy, metabolism, and long-term health

💕 From 6 Women to 16: A Day I Won’t Forget
Yesterday, I hosted a small seminar in my coworking space to introduce TwoXTopia, this app that you’re all a part of.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure how it would go. I was hella nervous and anxious. I told myself, even if one woman shows up, I’ll start.
At 4 PM, 6 women came in. 5 were my friends, and 1 was new.
So I began.
I talked about why this app exists, the small exhausting things that made us want a space that’s women-only, safe, and genuine.
And then, just when I was wrapping up, almost 15 women started walking in.
So I did what any woman with a soft spot for second chances would do. I started again 😄
Here I was nervous to even give this seminar once, ending up doing it twice.
By the end, half of them joined TwoXTopia right there.
The rest joined later when I went cabin to cabin, handing out goodie bags and chatting with them.
That day reminded me that growth doesn’t always have to be big or loud.
Sometimes, it’s just one honest conversation at a time.
If you’re reading this thank you for being here.
This app is still growing, and your feedback matters more than you think.
Tell me what you love, what could be better, or what you’d like to see next.
Let’s make TwoXTopia better together 💜

Introducing TwoXTopia : After work chai and a small talk
Preparing the goodie bags for today's seminar. All set. Just waiting for people to join.

Why Bangalore Hits different?
Each city tells a story,But bangalore feels like a feeling.❣️🤌

How to get verified and still maintain your anonymity on TwoXTopia
You cannot have a community of all women without verifying that they are women. We need transparency. And that's why we have the invite system and the verification system.
Invitation system works when an existing verified member sends you link, while verification works when you provide your Instagram, facebook or any other social login account name for us to verify that you are a woman (don't worry it's only visible to the admin)
But none of that makes it truly an anonymous experience for you, does it?
The person who invited you knows your username and the admin who verified you knows your real name.
So how do you maintain your anonymity?
Simple. First you get verified the normal way ie through normal invitation link or through verification by the mods. Then you send yourself an invite link (check the bottom tab for fresh invite links). Viola you have a semi anonymous account and a completely anonymous account for yourself! Just make sure you register via different email id or a different phone number. Each account has a unique email id or a unique phone number associated with it.
Hope that helped. Keep posting!
Back to Reality (and Deadlines 😭)
Brain’s still in holiday mode, but deadlines said “surpriseee.” 🎉💻
How’s everyone else surviving the post-festive reality check?

Imagine you could go back in time when you were 10 years old but retained all your current memories. How differently would you live your life with that knowledge?
Given that I currently work as a full stack web developer I would not have done my Masters in Mathematics. I would have chose Computer Science. And I would have only given 1 or 2 attempts for UPSC. I really would have missed the amazing time that I had during my Masters and I would have totally missed my friends from college but this academic thing is the only thing I would have changed with regards to my life.
My current professional life would have been simpler. I would not have wasted my precious youth in UPSC preparation so I would have lived a little more happening life during those years of prep.
Everything else in my personal life I really wouldn't change. I just would have understood why people were behaving the way they were behaving and changed my expectations accordingly.
What would you do differently?

People who joined without a invite link need to know this
Hello everyone 👋🏻
There are 3 kinds of users in this app.
1. There are verified users who were invited via an invitation link sent by me or by the people who are already on this app
2. There are unverified users who found this app via LinkedIn, Instagram or Reddit.
3. There is me who's the super admin but I also come under verified users.
To know what kind of user you are, click on the top right button of the app. It is a giant first letter of your username. Once you do, you can see what kind of user you are under your username
Now the catch is that only verified users can post, comment, like or dislike a post.
So how do you get verified if you didn't come via an invite link?
Simple. You need to provide a proof to me that you are a woman. To do so you need to provide me with atleast one of your social media account handle details.
Unverified users automatically see a dialog box that would tell them how to add this detail. But in case you clicked cancel and haven't provided your details then you can follow the following step.
1. Go to the top right icon of the app (the first letter of your username)
2. Go to "My profile and settings"
3. Click on "Social Media"
4. Click on "Edit"
5. Add any one of your social media handles that are provided there
6. Click save
And done. I will verify you within minutes.
PS : Your social media handles would not be shared with everyone. It would only be shared with me. And you can remove your details after you are verified if you want this account to remain anonymous.
PSS : this post was made by specifically keeping user @sunshine-wine-962 in mind. Please provide your social media details to become an active verified user.
Safety tips for women living alone in India
Living alone is really amazing. It teaches you to be self sufficient, independent and crafty. But as a woman you really have to keep your guards up against unwanted attention. Here's some of the tips that I have learned through my own and my friend's experiences that has made living alone a bit simpler.
1. Live in a gated society that has 24/7 security guards and restricted entry and
if there are no security guards, make sure there are CCTV cameras at the gate, in corridors, and on every floor.
2. Never provide your flat number when ordering for stuff that comes in one day or 15 mins. Always go down and collect your order.
3. If possible, then order stuff at your office instead of your place of residence. This is doubly helpful because there is always someone to collect your orders if you aren't present. Can't do the same when living at your place
4. Always keep someone in loop whenever you go somewhere.
5. Keep your main door locked even if you are going to the terrace, corridor or taking to your neighbours.
6. Never let any man know where you live unless you really really trust him. Take your time when trusting people.
7. If you are calling a handyman to repair your stuff then schedule it around a time when your friends are at your place
8. Keep a pair of men's shoes outside or if you don't have one then keep unisex sport shoes.
9. Never open the door unless you invited someone. Anyone else who comes can call your cell and if they don't have your cell then you don't need to see this person. And even then, check via peephole who's outside. No peephole? Get one installed.
10. Talk with your neighbours within the building and outside it.
11. Share your house keys with one trusted friend.
12. Remember some of your emergency contacts by heart. Don't depend on your phone to remember someone's contact info.
13. Give yourself a curfew time. Always be back home before that time. If you can't make it before that time then stay at your friend's place.
14. Do not use uber or rapido bikes, use cabs or autos no matter how expensive it is compared to the bikes.
15. Always keep your phone and other electronics charged. Have a power bank handy.
16. If your gut says not to do something, then don't do it. Us women have always sensed danger before anyone else. Don't try to be a good and polite girl. If it feels off then it is off. Trust you instincts. Always.
What tips do you follow? Let me know!
Cooking for One as a Woman: My Real Life Hacks for Living Alone
I used to buy groceries for a week. I would make a timetable for the entire week about every meal I would be cooking for each day. Every dish would have some common ingredients from the previous one so that there would be less hassle each time I cooked. I would meal prep by chopping up onion, tomato, broccoli and beetroot and precook some rice and dal. My system was perfect. Nothing would go wrong.
But one day I was too tired to cook after coming from office so I ended up ordering. The other day my friends invited me for dinner outside so I obviously had to go. One day I got my period. It just made more sense to order waffles & spaghetti and be done with it.
A week passed by. The potatoes had sprouted, my curd and milk were curdled, my chopped veggies had fungus growing on it and my coriander and spinach have shriveled up. So I decided to order fresh groceries again. But since I already had ordered food yesterday, it was okay to order it today as well. I will start cooking home made meals from tomorrow.
And the cycle continued.
I let go of perfectionism and started doing the following this instead. It took a lot of trials and errors but things were working out for me. Here's what I did :
1. Milk 🥛 : Instead of buying 1 litre tetra pack, I would buy 5 packs of 200ml ones instead. Both spoil 2 days after opening. But I could only finish the 200ml one in 2 days so that made more sense. Earlier I would sometimes buy 1 litre milk and then make paneer out of it after 2 days of using the milk.
2. Leafy Vegs 🥬: I started storing coriander and spinach in ziplock bags. Now they last a week or more without shrivelling up in 2 days
3. Meal prep 🥣 : Instead of chopping my veggies for the entire week, I would just chop them at night so they could be used anytime during the next day. Less veggies, less spoilage. Also switching from bowls with lids to airtight containers made a big difference.
4. Curd 🍶: I would order expensive but smaller quantity of curd so that I could finish it within 2 days
5. Oil 🍾: Even my oil used to get spoiled sometimes because I used to buy a pack and transfer it to an airtight container. Sometimes a drop or two of water would get inside the container because I was using a spoon to get the oil out of it. And water being denser than oil would be a perfect breeding ground for fungus. Now I just buy oil bottles directly. No transferring, no contamination, no fungus.
6. Measuring tools 🥄: I bought a set of measuring spoons and cups. Now I know exactly how much cup of rice needs to be cooked for person so that it lasts for 2 meals. It's oddly satisfying
7. But the major hack that helped me was to reduce my ordering. Every time I felt like ordering I would look at my bank balance, I would look at how much I already spent in ordering out and I would look inside my fridge. It would take me 30 mins to convince myself to not order out and cook instead, but the technique almost always worked. The guilt of spending unnecessarily always beat my craving for convenience.
So that’s what worked for me.
What about you? What are your life hacks for cooking when you live alone? Would love to hear them!
