Privacy Policy

1.1 Information You Provide

You sign in to TwoXTopia with Google. We never ask for, receive, or store a password, and we do not use phone number or OTP based login.

• •Required: A username that you choose, and the email address attached to the Google account you sign in with
• •From Google: Your name, your email address, and an identifier that lets us recognise your Google account on your next sign-in
• •Phone Number: We no longer ask anyone for a phone number. If you joined TwoXTopia before we moved to Google sign-in, we may still hold the number you originally signed up with, stored in encrypted form
• •Optional Profile Details: Profile photo, banner photo, bio, year of birth, current city, hometown, job profile, interests, and links to your other social profiles. All of these are optional — you can leave them blank, or change or remove them at any time
• •Content: Posts, comments, polls and votes, meetup RSVPs, reviews, bookmarks, invites you send, and reports you submit
• •Video Verification: If you choose to get verified, the short video you record for verification

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• •Usage Data: Pages and posts viewed, features used, and interactions such as likes, follows, and shares
• •Device and Session Information: IP address, the approximate location derived from it, browser or app version, device type and operating system, and the times you sign in and sign out
• •How You Found Us: The link that brought you to TwoXTopia (the referring site and any campaign tags in the web address), the page you landed on, and an anonymous visitor id stored in a cookie so that repeat visits from the same browser are not counted twice
• •Notifications: If you turn on notifications, a push token for your browser or device so that we can deliver them

1.3 Mobile App Permissions

The TwoXTopia mobile app asks for the permissions below only at the moment you use the feature that needs them. You can decline any of them, or change your mind later in your device settings, and still use the rest of the app.

• •Camera and Microphone: Used only to record your verification video. We never access your camera or microphone in the background
• •Photos: Used only so that you can pick a photo to add to a post or a comment. We only receive the photos you choose — we do not browse your photo library
• •Notifications: Used to send you activity and community updates. You can turn these off at any time

We use your information to:

• •Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• •Create and manage your account
• •Connect you with other users through Hangouts, Tag Alongs, and community features
• •Send notifications, updates, and communications
• •Moderate content and enforce community guidelines
• •Prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
• •Analyze usage patterns and improve user experience
• •Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:

• •With Other Users: Your profile information, posts, and activities are visible to other community members based on your privacy settings
• •Service Providers: Third-party vendors who help us operate our platform (hosting, analytics, customer support)
• •Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or legal process
• •Safety and Security: To protect the rights, safety, and security of TwoXTopia, our users, and the public
• •Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

• •Your name, email address, and year of birth are encrypted where they are stored, so they are not readable directly from our database
• •We never store a password — sign-in is handled entirely by Google, so there is no TwoXTopia password to steal
• •Secure authentication with JWT tokens
• •Rate limiting to prevent abuse
• •Regular security audits and updates

However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

You have the right to:

• •Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• •Correction: Update or correct your account information at any time from your profile, on the website or in the mobile app
• •Deletion: Delete your account yourself at any time, either in the mobile app or on the website, from your profile menu. See section 7 for exactly what is removed
• •Opt-Out: Unsubscribe from marketing communications, and turn notifications off from your device settings
• •Privacy Settings: Control who can see your profile and activities

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account yourself at any time, from your profile menu in the mobile app or on the TwoXTopia website. Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone.

When you delete your account, we remove:

• •Your name, email address, year of birth, and bio
• •Any phone number we still held from before we moved to Google sign-in
• •Your profile photo, banner photo, current city, hometown, and job profile
• •Your verification video, including the video file itself, and your verification status
• •The links to your other social profiles that you added to your account
• •The link between your TwoXTopia account and your Google sign-in
• •Your follower and following connections with other members
• •The notification registrations for your devices, so that we stop sending you notifications everywhere
• •The IP addresses and approximate locations recorded against your sign-ins
• •Your email address in our record of emails we have sent you

You are signed out on every device straight away, and your profile is shown to others as a deleted account.

What stays behind:

• •Your posts and comments: These remain visible so that community conversations other members took part in stay readable. They are shown as coming from a deleted account, with no personal information attached
• •Your username: It stays permanently reserved so that your past posts and comments remain consistent. It cannot be claimed by anyone else, including you
• •Records we must keep: Aggregated analytics that cannot identify you, and any records we are required to keep by law or in order to keep the community safe

The email address and Google account you used are released when you delete, so you are free to sign up again with the same email — you will simply need to choose a new username.

TwoXTopia is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child, we will delete it promptly.

TwoXTopia is operated in Bangalore, India. If you are accessing our services from outside India, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in India. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of TwoXTopia after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
