Skipping My Appraisal Hike to Switch from Kolkata to Bangalore — What Salary Hike Should I Target?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently based in Kolkata and considering a switch to Bangalore. The timing isn't ideal because I'll likely be moving before the annual appraisal cycle, meaning I'll be foregoing any appraisal hike from my current employer.
I'm trying to understand what would be a reasonable salary expectation while making this move.
A few questions:
1) How much hike (%) would you typically negotiate when moving from Kolkata to Bangalore, especially if you're missing out on the upcoming appraisal?
2) What monthly in-hand salary would you consider comfortable for a single person living alone in Bangalore?
I'm planning to rent a 1 BHK apartment (not necessarily in the city center) and maintain a reasonably comfortable lifestyle without being extravagant.
3) For those who have made a similar move recently, what salary range felt sufficient versus truly comfortable?
Would appreciate hearing from people who have switched cities recently and how they factored in the higher cost of living.

If you are planning to rent a 1bhk then 70k is needed as in hand salary to live a comfortable life here in blr
1. I'll say you should ask for the same % of hike that you would have received with the appraisal in the previous company. And maybe a little bit more but not less than that

2. That depends on which area of BLR you'll live in. Some areas are cheaper than others. The closer you live to tech parks and offices, the more expensive it gets. North East areas of BLR are the most expensive.

3. Honestly it'll never be enough. Who doesn't like more money?
But people do survive here with whatever package they've got. Depends on how expensive your wants are. Because your needs would definitely be fulfilled with any package range.
The more you earn, more you'll end up spending because you have the money. Your standard of living automatically increases

Answering only the 1bhk part, I've been living alone decently and overall you can expect 35-40k for a good comfortable living ( savings not included its just expenses)
