TwoXTopia turns 1 today π π
Exactly 1 year ago today, TwoXTopia went live.
I was the first user.
They say that with the power of friendship, everything is possible.
And that from 0 users to 10k users, you can get there in record time if you have friends.
Yeah, I have to call BS on that.
The day after launch, we had 2 more users. One was my colleague and the other was her roommate.
In my head, the growth of my platform was going to be a geometric progression.
Basically like this:
I invite 10 women.
Those 10 invite another 10 β 100 users.
Those 100 invite 10 each β 1,000 users.
And then somehow, very conveniently, we end up with more than a million users.
Of course it didn't happen. I would have been way too famous and would not have shut up about it, lol.
What actually happened was that I personally invited 204 women over the course of the year.
112 accepted.
Boy, am I glad that percentage is at least above 50%.
And between those women inviting other women, and some people finding us through our marketing, we have 600 users today.
According to my mathematical brain, this is the user base we should have reached by day 3.
10 β 100 β 1,000.
But honestly, 600 is not a failure by any count.
600 women have found TwoXTopia, signed up, and decided to be a part of it.
And when I look back at the last one year, I realise the number isn't even the most interesting part.
I've had a lot of firsts this year:
β A first conference, where I talked about TwoXTopia for the first time.
β A first meetup.
β A first podcast.
β A first hire for the TwoXTopia team.
β A first interview I took of someone else, to feature as a story on TwoXTopia.
β A first online meetup.
β A first time attending someone else's meetup.
β A first interview of my own, with All India Radio. (More people will interview me, I know that, because TwoXTopia is gonna go bigger.)
β A first time seeing strangers show up because of something I built.
β A first app launch on the Play Store.
β A first time getting rejected by Apple. And then finally getting approved π
And a whole lot of other firsts that I never imagined when I created that first account and made myself the first user.
Now all I need is 6,000 users exactly a year from today.
So I know I'm going in the right direction.
Zero pressure, right? π
Anyway, here's to the firsts.
And to hopefully having a LOT more of them before we get to the 6,000.
And to you who's reading this: you're one of the 600. Thank you for being here π
Know a woman who'd love it here? Send her an invite. That's how every single one of us got here.
