I'm a sugar mommy.
And I think that deserves a day of celebration

I guess that's the fun part of being the brain behind TwoXTopia,
I get to celebrate silly things like this,
& say "Oh it was all for work purposes"

That's why we decided to organise Mother’s Day meetup by TwoXTopia for unconventional mothers.

The mothers being:
the plant mommies 🪴,
pet mommies 🐕,
muscle mommies 💪🏻,
& eldest daughters who are 3rd parents to their siblings

Here's the funny part,
I genuinely thought women would get the joke & just show up.

I was very confident.
But also a bit delusional.

Because 3 days before the event,
we still didn’t have the venue locked in.

And once that was sorted,
the promotions began,
the registrations opened up.

I thought 3 days of promotion would be enough.

But then,
everyone suddenly had:
plans,
fever,
travel,
family commitments,
or some mysterious emergency.

I thought maybe people weren’t getting the joke.
Or maybe everyone was busy celebrating with their actual mothers.

I was spiralling.

And honestly the worst possible outcome wasn’t going to be “nobody comes”

It would have been "only one person turned up"

Because that would have meant,
more organisers than attendees.

But I had already decided:
if only one person shows up,
I’ll still host the event.

It would have totally sucked,
but then later I would make an inspirational LinkedIn post
pretending it was all part of the plan.

Fortunately,
people registered.

Was I happy?

Yes. For a minute.

Because now there was an entirely different set of chaos.

We didn't have enough goodies.
At least not the ones we had decided to give.

And then the venue cancelled our reservation.

Because I didn't pick up their calls.
(I don’t answer unknown calls. Not my fault. Okay maybe a little)

Here I am juggling the work phone,
the personal phone,
& resolving kinks until 5 minutes before the event started.

Fortunately this story has a happy ending.

Because everything came together right before the event started.

But was it better than the last event we organised?

Abso-freaking-lutely yes.

People were laughing,
forming tiny groups,
oversharing during games,
& getting way too competitive in the quiz I designed for them.

I personalise the quiz questions according to the attendees,
so they always feel confident while answering incorrectly.
I love messing with people, lol

This time even my team participated in it.

Now as a host, one strange thing u learn is this:

Even when people are already enjoying themselves,
you still have to interrupt,
move the room forward,
shift the energy,
& keep the structure running.

You have to become ok with being “the bad guy” for 10 seconds so nobody feels left out for 2 hours.

And by the end of it,
people stayed back talking,
the team got amazing content,
& we learned a little more about how to make the next one even better.

That was Mother’s Day.

My sugar mommy story continues in the comment section.

Now you tell me,
what kind of mommy are you?

📌 I'm sugar mommy because I started my career late. Which led to me being surrounded by people who were in the same post as me but younger.

This made me have a lot of younger friends ever since I came to Bangalore.

I become more responsible around them. I end up paying for their stuff because I love them.

And that's how I ended up becoming a sugar mommy to two young women.

They know who they are!

I attended the meeting on Mother's Day and if you hadn't given background of all the last min changes I would've never have guessed, it was sooooo much fun and the activities were engaging.

Love the initiative and effort put in by hosts and organizers.

The space you created for all the women that attended was electric and good vibes, Thank you to everyone who contributed 💓

P.S. I need a new Mother's Day bookmark 😘 my buddy who is trying to get back into reading with George Orwell's 1984 took mine 😋🙈🙈 iykyk😂

Thank you so much for your words jaz. I'm so glad you had fun!

You all were one the best guests we had so far. Loved the energy you all brought to the event.

Yeah from next time onward you'll be getting 2 bookmarks. Or maybe I can share it directly with your friend 😉

Can the sugar mommies please adopt me😭? A broke child. But unhinged and chaotic. Gonna be your ride and die. And will be there emotionally.

I'm so sorry. The adoption lines actually closed from my side. My sugar babies were making me broke 😭

How about this though? You join a weekend meetup this Sunday and find a Sugar mommy in making who would be willing to adopt you 😜
