Small Weekend Joys We Don't Appreciate Enough 🌸✨

So the weekend is approaching and I know some of us don't exactly have much planned for it.
If you fit in this category, I just want to remind you that it's OKAY.

Weekends don't always need to be exciting.
Sometimes they're just about not having to hear your alarm.
Or cooking your favourite most time-consuming breakfast without having to check the time.
Or finally replying to the texts you've been meaning to answer... since Tuesday.

Maybe it's waking up with absolutely nowhere to be, washing your hair without rushing while a Spotify shower mix blasts in the background, taking an unnecessarily long nap, getting your favorite snack "just because", watching the same comfort show for the hundredth time or even spending four hours with a friend and somehow talking about everything and nothing.

Turns out, a good weekend isn't measured by how much you did, but by how it made you feel. Because let's face it: you're already measuring your weekdays by how much you did.

We've somehow convinced ourselves that weekends have to be packed with brunches, plans, errands and productivity. While these are all usually fun and sometimes necessary, we can all agree that the best weekends aren't always the busiest ones.

Sometimes, the highlight of your Saturday is fresh new bedsheets or maybe your Sunday evening chai and samosa, or laughing so hard with someone that you completely lose track of time.

Maybe that's enough.

Weekends were never meant to be impressive. They were just meant to help us feel a little more like ourselves again before Monday rolls around.

What's one tiny thing that makes your weekend feel complete?
I'd love to hear about it. 🌼

For me weekends have always been about doing things that i didnt get the time to do during weekdays. So its mostly deep cleaning during saturday and cooking an elaborate dinner.

And sundays are reserved for going out.

And ever since i started hosting twoxtopia meetups, it has been saturday : deep cleaning, own outings and Sunday : twoxtopia meetups and elaborate dinner

The rest is about talking with family, going for longer evening walks, reading books, drafting posts for linkedin, etc.

When i was young and studying i would hardly go out and i never felt that i was not having fun by doing so. But ever since i came to bangalore and started to work i've started to go out way more than my usual. And it's not because i feel like im lagging and that i need to be out and about as the rest of the bangalore crowd. It's mostly about me trying to go out simply because i find something interesting enough and i have the energy for it.

But yeah i do understand the insecurity and fomo that young people feel if they don't keep their weekends booked with outings. It's okay if you dont go out every weekend. Weekends are about recharging yourself. Now whether you do this by going out or staying in, it's upto you!
