📖 Book Club ask

📚 What book is everyone reading lately?

Or what was the last book you finished?

I finished "Scream for Me" by Karen Rose yesterday and absolutely loved it. It was the perfect mix of thriller, mystery, and romance.

Today I've started "Have You Seen Me?" by Kate White, which is about a woman who wakes up with five years of her memory missing.

I'd love to know what everyone else is reading!

I'm also thinking we can use the Book Club interest a little differently. Instead of discussing every book under one post, we could create separate discussion threads for individual books. That way, anyone who has read the same book can join in without the conversation getting mixed up.

I'd suggest creating a discussion thread after you've finished the book, so everyone can freely discuss it (with spoiler tags where needed)

Tomorrow I'll make a dedicated thread for Scream for Me with my detailed thoughts (spoiler-free at first 🫣)

Drop the book you're currently reading or the last one you finished and tell us in one or two lines whether you'd recommend it 📖✨

And if enough people are interested, we could even vote on a monthly book to read together and eventually have a Book Club meetup to discuss it.

PS : Enclosing text between two !! hides them. Ex : ‼️spoiler-text‼️

Check it out here : spoiler-text

Well I used to be a bookworm. I feel shame while saying (typing) this because my attention span has hit rock bottom. But when I was in school i literally used to lend my novels and books to my friends and enemies to read.

But with time that habit simply disappeared. And I'm disappointed in myself.

But but but i purchased this book "How to kill men" a few days ago to understand the chaos behind why everyone was hating on that metro girl for reading this book and I am officially hooked.

Alsooooooooo🤌 I am writing my inner thoughts after every episode and para because I am .... Hooked?.. yeah.

I would read a lot back when I was a kid. I could read for hours.

But I guess then life happened and I could barely read anything untill it was absolutely important.

And this seems to be happening with everyone as we grow old. Don't sweat it too much.

You've started reading again so that's a good thing. You'll read more eventually.

Do make a separate post once you are done reading. And maybe we can exchange books someday to read more!
3 years ago I had gone to "used books" fair. Got a box for 1700Rs. And i was allowed to put as many book as I can in it.

Basically you pay for the box and not for the books. I managed to fit 17 books. So basically it costed me 100Rs per book.

However it took me this long to finally start reading something. I started with Bridget Jones Diary lasy year but gave up because I found it a bit boring. Then this year I picked up "The Other Queen" by Philippa Gregory.

It was really good but 3/4th way in I got stuck with other chores so I had to stop and couldn't get back in because I kinda felt like I forgot what I read and that i should start again.

Finally I picked up "Scream for Me" four days ago because I was on a leave for the first time in 2 months and I felt like i should read something to ease the pain I was in.

And I'm so glad I took that decision. I finally got back into the groove of reading books. I have a feeling I'm gonna finish a major chunk of my existing book collection before the year ends. Wish me luck 🤞🏻
