Why does money disappear so fast in Bangalore?
Went to a “budget-friendly” café in Bangalore with my cousin and ended up paying ₹350 for just one coffee. In my hometown, the same coffee would cost at most ₹200, so it honestly felt outrageous. But my cousin, who has lived here longer, said this is pretty normal for the city.
I think another reason money just disappears here is because there is always so much to do, eat and try, even if the prices are high. It somehow makes spending feel easy without realizing.
For example, I was trying to join a run club recently and they asked me to pay a registration fee (which I'm not used to, but paid anyway) and then they asked me to pay separate fees to be part of each run they host! 😭
The coffee was genuinely good, but I am still questioning the price.
What do you think, is Bangalore actually expensive or does it just feel that way when you’re new here? 🤕
