Done in 2 days - yes it was that good for me
Can we take a moment to appreciate the edition.
I think I will be in the camp of very select few who truly enjoyed this read. I went in with the expectation that I will DNF this, after hearing the amount of reviews that talked about the extreme misogynistic themes, violence etc.
But it's a war time narrative. War has never been kind to women, it has never been kind to men. War has no mercy. This book at its very core is a love story. Deeply dark and morbidly tragic, and I hope love under these circumstances may never find anyone IRL. But am glad the MCs with all their flaws, emotional instability and manipulation, found solace in each other.
Granted, this won't be everyone's cup of tea. The TW at the last page of the book is real. And it's also true that I will defend the plot points because I think SenLinYu should write more.
