I don't think I'll be forgetting this Sunday's meetup anytime soon.

This Sunday, TwoXTopia hosted a meetup on the topic "Converse with Your Past, Present and Future Self" at Antarmann Coffee with Coach. The venue couldn't have been more perfect: It was peaceful, cozy and made everyone feel at ease. The turnout was amazing and what made it even more special was seeing women from completely different ages and backgrounds sitting together like they've known each other forever.

As the conversations went on, everyone slowly let their guard down. People opened up about past traumas, things they're currently struggling with, fears they don't usually talk about and the future they're hoping to build for themselves. The conversations were emotional, but they also felt really comforting. Every story was met with understanding, reassurance and so much empathy.

It was one of those moments where you realize how healing it is to simply be heard.

My favourite part had to be the childhood object activity. Everyone brought something that reminded them of their younger self. There were soft toys, coins, a pen that reminded someone of how much they loved writing and so many little things, each with their own story.

We spoke to those objects as if they were our present selves, reminding them to be kinder to themselves, make choices that their future self would thank them for and hold on to the dreams they once had. It was a simple activity, but so emotional.

We wrapped up the evening with little goodie bags, but I think everyone took home something much bigger than that. New perspectives, new friendships, and hopefully a little more hope.

I can't wait to see more TwoXTopia users host meetups like this. Because if this meetup proved anything, it's that all women really need is a space where they feel safe to be open and honest.💜💛
