I am tired of reading books having kind of a bad ending. Often times, it's said to be based on realism but honestly, books change the world.
If we keep on giving a negative ending, to match with reality, everything's going to be the same.

But you should ask, who was it bad for?
I thought the ending wasn't bad for the younger sister. She got what she wanted. Sure, we may say it was tragic, she was not well. But in her unwell mind, she got what she wanted.

Also, Han Kang is maybe not the writer if you are looking for objective happy ending stories 😅😅

I feel, she got the only choice she was left with, and it just makes me tired because I want an ending where the women actually breaks free and is able to live. Nothing extravagant. Just live. I guess these books can be taken as precautionary tales.
