Making and keeping friends in your 20s and beyond is harder than figuring out your career.

Isn't that something we all have felt at some point in our lives?

We all grew up believing adulthood magically comes with a fixed circle of people, the ones who “just get us.”

But somewhere between college ending, first jobs, moving cities, chasing careers, healing from old wounds, and simply trying to stay afloat, friendships get complicated.

Some of us drift because life happens.
Some of us outgrow people we once thought we’d never lose.
Some of us crave deeper, more intentional friendships but don’t know where to find them.

And some of us are learning, sometimes painfully, that effort, vulnerability, and emotional availability matter more than shared history.
So if friendships in your 20s feel messy, delayed, or inconsistent it doesn’t mean you’re doing life wrong.
It means you’re human.

Because building adult friendships isn’t about proximity anymore.
It’s about connection that feels real, not convenient.

And yes sometimes it is hard.
But it’s also worth talking about.
