Come watch "A thousand splendid suns" with me

A few months ago I had gone to watch "The Kite Runner" based on Khalid Hosseni's book.

I had zero idea about the book. Only thing I knew was that it's set in war torn afganistan and talks about friendship between two young boys who are on the extreme end of the financial spectrum : son of a master and servant.

That show broke me in ways i could never anticipate. No spoilers ahead, but it made me realise that i could handle gore, violence in tv shows even though it's shot so realistically but I couldn't handle a assault scene that's just implied and not even shown during the live theatre show.

Why?

Because you know movies exaggerate. You can always close it off and know it's fake. War is not an everyday reality for all of us. So it's easy to simply separate it's horror and feel distant.

But assault? Oof all of us women know it. We've all had our own fair share. Sometimes small, sometimes extreme. It's that one experience that we don't actually have to go through to feel it.

And that's how Kite Runner was.

So how is it relevant to "a thousand splendid suns"?

Well it's the same author, same director, same theatre production and similar setting but different characters.

I'm ready to have my heart broken to pieces anyways. It's not in use anymore.

If you want to come and cry with me in a public setting then feel free to join me to watch this show

PS : My seat no is a14. You can honestly sit anywhere and still be able to watch things clearly since the auditorium is very small

Oh that's cool but I already booked for Jagriti. And I like jagriti more because it allows for seat number unlike Ranga Shankara and also because no matter what seat you choose for Jagriti, it's always close to the stage.

Would you be coming?

There's one happening in Ranga Shankara as well on a different date. Maybe u can go to that one.

And yes I would absolutely love to see you again!

Maybe we can meet that day itself after the show is over or maybe some other outing. I'll post about it when I decide where to go next weekend!
