Here's to Girls' Washrooms ✨
I don't think enough people talk about the fact that girls' washrooms outside are some of the nicest places on earth.
Not because they're glamorous. They're usually overcrowded and have terrible lighting.
But they're also where complete strangers become your biggest cheerleaders for five minutes.
You could walk in not knowing a single person and walk out having been complimented three times, handed a hair pin and convinced not to text your ex.
Need someone to hold your drink while you fix your hair? Done.
Can't zip up the back of your dress? Suddenly two girls you've never met are helping you like you've been friends for years.
Having a mini breakdown because your eyeliner isn't even? There's always someone ready to tell you it genuinely looks fine.
Some of my favourite moments of girlhood happen in these places. The stranger who tells you your mascara is smudged and fixes it for you before you embarrass yourself. The girl who offers you a pad or tampon without hesitation. The collective gasp when someone reads out a questionable text message and asks, "Should I reply to him??"
It's funny because none of us are there to make friends. We just came to use the washroom. Yet somehow for a few minutes, it becomes a place where everyone is rooting for each other.
Maybe it's because girls know what it's like to need a little saving sometimes. A quick makeup fix, a second opinion or someone to tell you you're not overreacting.
Whatever it is, I hope girls' washrooms never change.
What's your most memorable girls' washroom story? We all have one 🙂↕️
